What started as a small coffee-roasting hobby in 2020 has grown into an exciting new chapter for Mile 22 Roastery.
We have moved into a dedicated roasting facility in the Appleton/Grand Chute area, and our grand opening is Saturday, October 24, 2026. The new space gives us more room to roast, package, prepare orders, and support our customers and wholesale partners while continuing the hands-on approach that built Mile 22.

From Our First Small Batches to a Dedicated Roastery
Mile 22 began with small-batch roasting in 2020. As more people discovered our coffee, what started on a small scale steadily grew.
In 2023, we renovated our Black Creek location and opened the Mile 22 Coffee Shop at 309 N. Main Street that December. Since then, our coffee has reached more people through the shop, our website, subscriptions, local retailers, and wholesale partners.
Eventually, we outgrew our original roasting setup. Our new Appleton-area facility gives coffee production a dedicated home and gives us room to keep building.
A Bigger Roastery Built for the Future
The new roastery provides approximately 1,750 square feet of production space, with room for roasting, green coffee storage, packaging, labeling, order preparation, and wholesale production.
We arranged the space around the way coffee moves through our operation: from green bean storage to roasting, cooling, packaging, and shipment. Production workstations, storage racking, designated work areas, and sanitation equipment help us stay organized as orders grow.
Every part of the space serves the same purpose: helping us prepare fresh coffee carefully and consistently.
Meet Our Roasters
Our larger Valenta roaster is a major upgrade for Mile 22. It gives us greater roasting capacity and helps us keep up with demand from online customers, the coffee shop, and wholesale accounts.
Alongside it, our Artisan 3-e roaster gives us flexibility for smaller batches, testing, specialty coffees, and product development.
Having both roasters gives us more options for production while keeping close attention on the individual coffee and its roast profile.
More Capacity, the Same Care in Every Bag
Our lineup continues to include customer favorites such as Legendary Roast, Sunrise, 10-4, Espresso No. 22, Highlander, Crossroads to the Northwoods, Midnight Reserve, and Black Iron, along with single-origin coffees, flavored coffees, and decaf options.
We have also continued bringing more of our signature blends in-house. That gives us greater control over how we develop, roast, and maintain the coffees customers return for.
Whether you prefer a bright medium roast, a rich dark coffee, or a naturally flavored favorite, our goal remains the same: coffee you look forward to drinking.
More Origins, Signature Blends, and Specialty Coffees to Explore
Our selection has continued evolving throughout 2026. Golden Savanna brings Brazil Cerrado Natural to the lineup, Orchid Grove features coffee from Mexico, and High Bloom showcases Ethiopia Yirgacheffe natural-process coffee.
Customers can also explore coffees from Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Papua New Guinea, Timor, and other origins, along with specialty offerings such as Pearl Bourbon Peaberry, Café Roast, and Mocha Java.
We want to make it easy to find a familiar favorite and discover something new.
Signature Blends Worth Waking Up For
Our single-origin coffees are only part of the Mile 22 story. We have put a great deal of time, care, and effort into creating our blended coffees, with one goal in mind: making coffee you want to wake up to every day.
Developing a blend takes more than simply combining beans. We spend time tasting, adjusting the balance, and refining the roast until the coffees work together to create the flavor and character we are looking for. Each blend has its own personality, but every one is created to earn a place in your daily routine.
From Legendary Roast and Sunrise to Highlander, Espresso No. 22, Black & Tan, 10-4, and Midnight Reserve, our blends give coffee drinkers a range of flavors to make their own. Whether you enjoy a bright start to the morning, a balanced everyday cup, or a deeper, richer roast, we want that first sip to be something you look forward to.
These coffees represent many hours of work behind the scenes—and the simple pleasure we hope you find in every cup. A favorite coffee becomes part of your morning, your conversations, and the moments when you take a break. That is what we are working toward with every Mile 22 blend.

Green Coffee Beans for Home Roasters
One of our biggest additions this year is green coffee beans for home roasting. Home roasters can now purchase green coffee from Mile 22, including selections from Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea, and our Highlander Signature Blend.
We have added roast suggestions and information about natural, washed, and honey processing to help customers learn about their beans before the first roast.
We are also exploring home-roasting starter packages that could include a roaster, several pounds of Mile 22 green coffee, coffees from different processing methods, a roast log, and a quick-start guide. These packages are still in development, and we will share details as they take shape.

Supporting Our Growing Wholesale Community
The new facility also gives us more room to support the retailers, coffee shops, and businesses that carry Mile 22.
Our retail and wholesale partners include Meijer, Tadych’s – Econo Foods, Charlie’s Country Market, Down Home on Main, Manawa Quality Foods, Sal’s Foods, Gresham Hardware, Gen & Lil’s, New London Travel Plaza, and Brewed in Clintonville.
We appreciate every partner who introduces our coffee to their community. Greater roasting and packaging capacity will help us support those relationships and reach additional locations throughout Northeast Wisconsin and beyond.
A Growing Online Store
Our website has grown alongside the roastery. Customers can shop roasted coffee, green coffee beans, flavored and decaf coffees, subscriptions, and gift options directly online.
Customer reviews, rewards and referrals, educational content, and subscriptions offer more ways to discover Mile 22 and keep your favorite coffee on hand. Our Trio Sampler also lets customers choose three coffees independently to build their own selection.
We currently offer $5 nationwide shipping. Customers choosing roastery pickup at checkout can collect their orders locally; follow the pickup instructions provided with your order.

A Special Year for Mile 22
Earlier this year, Mile 22 was named the #1 Coffee Shop & Roastery in Outagamie County in the Best of 2026 awards. That recognition means a great deal to us.
Every customer who buys a bag, stops in for a drink, recommends us to a friend, or shares our story has helped us reach this point. We are grateful for that support and excited to keep improving.
What Comes Next?
The new roastery gives us room to expand wholesale distribution, develop additional signature blends, explore specialty coffees, and grow our green-coffee program for home roasters.
We will also share more behind-the-scenes updates so you can see how green coffee arrives, how we roast it, and how each bag gets prepared for pickup or shipment.
