Roast it your way

Brazil Cerrado Natural 17/18 is an approachable green coffee for home roasters, with a smooth, balanced profile, mild acidity, and plenty of natural sweetness. It’s a forgiving coffee to work with and a great choice for someone getting started with home roasting, while still offering enough range for experienced roasters to experiment.

Tasting Notes: Milk Chocolate • Almond • Dried Plum • Vanilla
Origin: Brazil
Region: Cerrado
Process: Natural
Screen Size: 17/18
Body: Medium
Acidity: Mild
Cup Score: 83.5

Recommended Starting Roast: Medium to Medium-Dark
A medium roast is a great starting point for bringing out this coffee’s natural sweetness, milk chocolate, almond, and dried-fruit character. Taking it slightly darker will build more body and deeper caramelized flavors while keeping the cup smooth and approachable.

Roasting Notes:
At a light-medium roast, expect more of the dried-plum and subtle fruit character to show through, along with a lighter body and slightly more brightness. At medium, the coffee becomes sweeter and rounder, with milk chocolate, almond, vanilla, and a balanced body taking center stage. Moving toward medium-dark develops deeper chocolate, toasted nut, and caramelized-sugar notes while reducing the already mild acidity. Home roasters who prefer a heavier, more traditional cup can take it a little farther, but we recommend stopping before the roast character begins to overpower the coffee’s natural sweetness.

Experience Level: Beginner Friendly

Home Roaster Note: Roast times and development will vary depending on your roaster, batch size, and technique. Use our recommendation as a starting point and adjust to your taste.

Important: This coffee is green and unroasted. It must be roasted before brewing.
